“Glass Onion: A knives Out Mystery” (2022)
Since we started this page, we have always been honest, no matter if we think our opinion will be popular or not; sometimes, we won’t even agree with each other when it is a very divisive opinion, but to our surprise, we absolutely agree on this movie, so we will have to be the ones to say it out loud “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” is not a great movie and in no way it is better than the original.
This Christmas, we could not spend it together, so the best we could do was to share a movie, so we decided to watch “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” because we loved the original.
We had listened to the opinions of many people we respect, about “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” so expectations were very high, but they all started to crumble fast; we felt the acting was way over the top, as was the story, and the characters were interesting but felt almost like caricatures, the plot was obvious, and Little J guess everything in the first act of the movie, and if that was not enough the ending was just wholly ridiculous.
The first movie worked for us because of all the things this failed, even the character of Daniel Craig; this time around, we felt they pushed it to the point that it became unbearable and annoying at points.
On the other hand, Janelle Monae really stole the show; she looks stunning, and when she is on screen, no one else can really grab the light from her.
The cinematography and production value of this movie is high, and you can see Netflix invested hard in this movie, sadly the production value of the movie at times works against it, some scenes are almost choreographed like a play, and that takes us away from the movie and the mystery that should be the focus.
Still, because of the first movie and the talent in front and behind the camera, we are still 100% in for the third movie.
Have you seen it? What did you think?
Is it better than the original?
