Inside Out 2

The original “Inside Out” remains one of my favorite Pixar movies, right up there with “Finding Nemo.” What made the first film so impactful was its deep and intelligent exploration of the complex emotions of a child. Now, with “Inside Out 2,” Pixar takes it to the next level by addressing the emotions of a teenager.

What makes this movie exceptional is its ability to operate on two completely different levels. On one hand, it’s a film for kids—funny, filled with even more hilarious characters, and packed with easy jokes. On the other hand, it’s a profound movie for parents, offering deep, layered messages that many films could only dream of addressing.

This is one of the best movies of the year for all these reasons. It’s fun, emotional, and will bring tears to your eyes. As you leave the cinema, you’ll find yourself engaged in meaningful conversations that aren’t easy to start but are important to have.

As expected, the animation is beautiful, featuring talented voiceovers. The new characters introduced are as interesting as the originals. The world-building and the way they fill this world contribute significantly to the film’s enjoyment.

Hopefully, this movie gets Pixar back on the right track, reminding them that it’s all about the story. With a good story, great characters, and a clear understanding of their audience, people will continue to flock to the cinema.
