O &#8220;The Crow&#8221; de 1994 \u00e9 um dos meus filmes favoritos de todos os tempos\u2014uma obra-prima quase perfeita do cinema. Infelizmente, este reboot de 2024 ficou aqu\u00e9m de minhas expectativas de maneiras que eu nunca imaginei.<br><br>Vamos come\u00e7ar pelo aspecto mais cr\u00edtico que simplesmente n\u00e3o pode ser replicado: o misticismo de Brandon Lee como Eric Draven. Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd \u00e9 um ator talentoso, sem d\u00favida, mas ele simplesmente n\u00e3o consegue capturar a magia que Lee trouxe ao papel. Skarsg\u00e5rd tem uma apar\u00eancia interessante, claro, mas tudo em sua atua\u00e7\u00e3o parece for\u00e7ado. Voc\u00ea nunca sente verdadeiramente sua dor, sua raiva, ou especialmente o amor profundo e eterno entre Eric e Shelly\u2014que, sejamos honestos, \u00e9 o cora\u00e7\u00e3o e a alma de toda a hist\u00f3ria.<br><br>Para muitos, &#8220;The Crow&#8221; \u00e9 apenas um filme de a\u00e7\u00e3o legal, mas para mim, continua sendo uma das mais belas hist\u00f3rias de amor j\u00e1 colocadas no cinema. &#8220;The Crow&#8221; foi criado por James O\u2019Barr como uma maneira de lidar com a perda tr\u00e1gica de sua noiva, e talvez seja por isso que essa hist\u00f3ria capture a ess\u00eancia de um amor t\u00e3o poderoso que nem mesmo a morte pode par\u00e1-lo. Nesta nova vers\u00e3o, no entanto, o que vemos \u00e9 um relacionamento superficial e ef\u00eamero que parece mais enraizado em atra\u00e7\u00e3o sexual e uso de drogas do que em qualquer conex\u00e3o emocional real.<br><br>Um grande problema \u00e9 a escolha de FKA Twigs para o elenco. Ela parece deslocada durante todo o filme, e n\u00e3o h\u00e1 qu\u00edmica nenhuma entre ela e Skarsg\u00e5rd. Outro ponto que joga contra o filme \u00e9 a cinematografia. O &#8220;The Crow&#8221; original est\u00e1 imerso em sombras, e por boas raz\u00f5es\u2014o personagem prospera na escurid\u00e3o. Ao mostrar todos os detalhes sangrentos em cores vivas, o reboot retira grande parte do impacto assombroso do original.<br><br>O diretor Rupert Sanders mais uma vez mostra que n\u00e3o entende completamente o material fonte que est\u00e1 adaptando. Depois do decepcionante &#8220;Ghost in the Shell&#8221;, \u00e9 dif\u00edcil acreditar que ele era realmente f\u00e3 dessas hist\u00f3rias antes de assumir esses projetos. O Corvo \u00e9 um dos personagens mais intrigantes por causa do mist\u00e9rio que o cerca\u2014muito parecido com o Coringa. O que n\u00e3o sabemos sobre ele \u00e9 t\u00e3o cativante quanto o que sabemos. Alex Proyas acertou em cheio nesse equil\u00edbrio no original, estabelecendo a hist\u00f3ria com uma introdu\u00e7\u00e3o poderosa e uma das melhores montagens de transforma\u00e7\u00e3o de todos os tempos, especialmente com aquela trilha sonora inesquec\u00edvel. Este novo filme? Nem tanto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Existem outros problemas gritantes tamb\u00e9m. A falta de um vil\u00e3o interessante e seus capangas esquec\u00edveis faz com que a busca de Eric por vingan\u00e7a pare\u00e7a entediante e sem prop\u00f3sito. A cinematografia, como mencionei, n\u00e3o se encaixa no clima ou no tom do material original de forma alguma.<br><br>E para completar, este filme \u00e9 ruim, mas nunca abra\u00e7a totalmente o qu\u00e3o ruim ele \u00e9, o que poderia ao menos ter tornado a experi\u00eancia divertida. Em vez disso, ele se arrasta, tentando ser profundo e s\u00e9rio, acabando por se tornar algo sem prop\u00f3sito e completamente esquec\u00edvel.<br><br>E voc\u00ea, o que achou deste filme? -->\n<p>Before we dive in, I need to be completely transparent: this movie had an uphill battle to win my praise from the start. The 1994 \"<a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/film\/the-crow\/\">The Crow<\/a>\" is one of my all-time favorite films\u2014a near-perfect piece of cinema. Unfortunately, this 2024 reboot fell short in more ways than I ever expected.<br><br>Let's start with the most critical aspect that simply can't be replicated: <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/actor\/brandon-lee\/\">Brandon Lee\u2019s<\/a> mystique as Eric Draven. <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/actor\/bill-skarsgard\/\">Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/a> is a talented actor, no doubt, but he just doesn't capture the magic that Lee brought to the role. Skarsg\u00e5rd has an interesting look, sure, but everything about his performance feels forced. You never truly feel his pain, his anger, or especially the deep, undying love between Eric and Shelly\u2014which, let's be honest, is the heart and soul of the entire story.\u2800<br><br>For many, \"The Crow\" is just a cool action movie, but for me, it remains one of the most beautiful love stories ever put on film. \"The Crow\" was created by <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/original-writer\/james-obarr\/\">James O\u2019Barr<\/a> as a way to cope with the tragic loss of his fianc\u00e9e, and that may be why this story captures the essence of a love so powerful that not even death can stop it. In this new version, however, we get a shallow and fleeting relationship that feels more rooted in sexual attraction and drug use than any real emotional connection.<br><br>A big part of the problem is the casting of <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/actor\/fka-twigs\/\">FKA Twigs<\/a>. She feels out of place throughout the entire movie, and there\u2019s zero chemistry between her and Skarsg\u00e5rd. Another issue that works against the film is its cinematography. The original \"The Crow\" is steeped in shadows, and for good reason\u2014the character thrives in the darkness. By showing every gory detail in full color, the reboot strips away much of the original\u2019s haunting impact.<br><br>Director <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/director\/rupert-sanders\/\">Rupert Sanders<\/a> once again shows that he doesn't fully understand the source material he's adapting. After the disappointing \"<a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/film\/ghost-in-the-shell-2017\/\">Ghost in the Shell<\/a>,\" it's hard to believe he was a genuine fan of these stories before taking on these projects. The Crow is one of the most intriguing characters because of the mystery surrounding him\u2014much like the Joker. What we don't know about him is just as compelling as what we do. <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/director\/alex-proyas\/\">Alex Proyas<\/a> nailed this balance in the original, setting up the story with a powerful intro and one of the best transformation montages ever, especially with that unforgettable soundtrack. This new film? Not so much.<br><br>There are other glaring issues, too. The lack of an interesting villain and his forgettable sidekicks makes Eric's quest for revenge feel boring and pointless. The cinematography, as I mentioned, doesn't fit the mood or tone of the source material at all.<br><br>And to top it all off, this movie is bad, but it never fully embraces how bad it is, which could have at least made it fun. Instead, it drags on, trying to be deep and serious, ultimately becoming pointless and entirely forgettable.<br><br>So, what did you think of this movie? O \"The Crow\" de 1994 \u00e9 um dos meus filmes favoritos de todos os tempos\u2014uma obra-prima quase perfeita do cinema. Infelizmente, este reboot de 2024 ficou aqu\u00e9m de minhas expectativas de maneiras que eu nunca imaginei.<br><br>Vamos come\u00e7ar pelo aspecto mais cr\u00edtico que simplesmente n\u00e3o pode ser replicado: o misticismo de Brandon Lee como Eric Draven. Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd \u00e9 um ator talentoso, sem d\u00favida, mas ele simplesmente n\u00e3o consegue capturar a magia que Lee trouxe ao papel. Skarsg\u00e5rd tem uma apar\u00eancia interessante, claro, mas tudo em sua atua\u00e7\u00e3o parece for\u00e7ado. Voc\u00ea nunca sente verdadeiramente sua dor, sua raiva, ou especialmente o amor profundo e eterno entre Eric e Shelly\u2014que, sejamos honestos, \u00e9 o cora\u00e7\u00e3o e a alma de toda a hist\u00f3ria.<br><br>Para muitos, \"The Crow\" \u00e9 apenas um filme de a\u00e7\u00e3o legal, mas para mim, continua sendo uma das mais belas hist\u00f3rias de amor j\u00e1 colocadas no cinema. \"The Crow\" foi criado por James O\u2019Barr como uma maneira de lidar com a perda tr\u00e1gica de sua noiva, e talvez seja por isso que essa hist\u00f3ria capture a ess\u00eancia de um amor t\u00e3o poderoso que nem mesmo a morte pode par\u00e1-lo. Nesta nova vers\u00e3o, no entanto, o que vemos \u00e9 um relacionamento superficial e ef\u00eamero que parece mais enraizado em atra\u00e7\u00e3o sexual e uso de drogas do que em qualquer conex\u00e3o emocional real.<br><br>Um grande problema \u00e9 a escolha de FKA Twigs para o elenco. Ela parece deslocada durante todo o filme, e n\u00e3o h\u00e1 qu\u00edmica nenhuma entre ela e Skarsg\u00e5rd. Outro ponto que joga contra o filme \u00e9 a cinematografia. O \"The Crow\" original est\u00e1 imerso em sombras, e por boas raz\u00f5es\u2014o personagem prospera na escurid\u00e3o. Ao mostrar todos os detalhes sangrentos em cores vivas, o reboot retira grande parte do impacto assombroso do original.<br><br>O diretor Rupert Sanders mais uma vez mostra que n\u00e3o entende completamente o material fonte que est\u00e1 adaptando. Depois do decepcionante \"Ghost in the Shell\", \u00e9 dif\u00edcil acreditar que ele era realmente f\u00e3 dessas hist\u00f3rias antes de assumir esses projetos. O Corvo \u00e9 um dos personagens mais intrigantes por causa do mist\u00e9rio que o cerca\u2014muito parecido com o Coringa. O que n\u00e3o sabemos sobre ele \u00e9 t\u00e3o cativante quanto o que sabemos. Alex Proyas acertou em cheio nesse equil\u00edbrio no original, estabelecendo a hist\u00f3ria com uma introdu\u00e7\u00e3o poderosa e uma das melhores montagens de transforma\u00e7\u00e3o de todos os tempos, especialmente com aquela trilha sonora inesquec\u00edvel. Este novo filme? A cinematografia, como mencionei, n\u00e3o se encaixa no clima ou no tom do material original de forma alguma.<br><br>E para completar, este filme \u00e9 ruim, mas nunca abra\u00e7a totalmente o qu\u00e3o ruim ele \u00e9, o que poderia ao menos ter tornado a experi\u00eancia divertida. -->\n<p>Antes de empezar, necesito ser completamente honesto: este filme ya ten\u00eda un gran reto para ganarse mi aprobaci\u00f3n desde el principio. La pel\u00edcula \"El Cuervo\" de 1994 es una de mis pel\u00edculas favoritas de todos los tiempos, una obra cinematogr\u00e1fica casi perfecta. Lamentablemente, este reinicio de 2024 qued\u00f3 corto en m\u00e1s formas de las que jam\u00e1s imagin\u00e9.<br><br>Comencemos por el aspecto m\u00e1s cr\u00edtico que simplemente no se puede replicar: el misticismo de Brandon Lee como Eric Draven. Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd es un actor talentoso, sin duda, pero no logra capturar la magia que Lee aport\u00f3 al papel. Skarsg\u00e5rd tiene una apariencia interesante, claro, pero todo en su actuaci\u00f3n se siente forzado. Nunca llegas a sentir realmente su dolor, su ira, o especialmente el amor profundo y eterno entre Eric y Shelly, que, seamos sinceros, es el coraz\u00f3n y alma de toda la historia.<br><br>Para muchos, \"El Cuervo\" es solo una pel\u00edcula de acci\u00f3n cool, pero para m\u00ed, sigue siendo una de las historias de amor m\u00e1s bellas jam\u00e1s llevadas al cine. \"El Cuervo\" fue creado por James O\u2019Barr como una manera de lidiar con la tr\u00e1gica p\u00e9rdida de su prometida, y quiz\u00e1 por eso esta historia captura la esencia de un amor tan poderoso que ni siquiera la muerte puede detenerlo. Sin embargo, en esta nueva versi\u00f3n, lo que obtenemos es una relaci\u00f3n superficial y ef\u00edmera que parece m\u00e1s basada en la atracci\u00f3n sexual y el uso de drogas que en una conexi\u00f3n emocional real.<br><br>Un gran problema es la elecci\u00f3n de FKA Twigs para el reparto. Ella se siente fuera de lugar durante toda la pel\u00edcula, y no hay qu\u00edmica en absoluto entre ella y Skarsg\u00e5rd. Otro problema que afecta a la pel\u00edcula es su cinematograf\u00eda. La original \"El Cuervo\" est\u00e1 inmersa en sombras, y por buenas razones: el personaje prospera en la oscuridad. Al mostrar cada detalle sangriento en color, este reinicio despoja al original de gran parte de su impacto inquietante.<br><br>El director Rupert Sanders muestra una vez m\u00e1s que no comprende completamente el material de origen que est\u00e1 adaptando. Despu\u00e9s de la decepcionante \"Ghost in the Shell\", es dif\u00edcil creer que era un verdadero fan de estas historias antes de asumir estos proyectos. El Cuervo es uno de los personajes m\u00e1s intrigantes debido al misterio que lo rodea, al igual que el Joker. Lo que no sabemos sobre \u00e9l es tan fascinante como lo que sabemos. Alex Proyas logr\u00f3 equilibrar esto en el original, estableciendo la historia con una poderosa introducci\u00f3n y una de las mejores secuencias de transformaci\u00f3n jam\u00e1s vistas, especialmente con esa banda sonora inolvidable. \u00bfEsta nueva pel\u00edcula? No tanto.<br><br>Hay otros problemas evidentes tambi\u00e9n. La falta de un villano interesante y sus secuaces olvidables hace que la b\u00fasqueda de venganza de Eric se sienta aburrida y sin prop\u00f3sito. La cinematograf\u00eda, como mencion\u00e9, no encaja en el ambiente o tono del material original en absoluto.<br><br>Y para colmo, esta pel\u00edcula es mala, pero nunca abraza completamente lo mala que es, lo que al menos podr\u00eda haberla hecho divertida.
