Despu\u00e9s de verla en el cine, me qued\u00e9 con 3 estrellas. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9? Porque no es buena, no es mala\u2014es simplemente&#8230; pasable. Y, para m\u00ed, eso es lo peor de todo.<br><br>Cuando tienes una pel\u00edcula tan ic\u00f3nica como la original <em>Beetlejuice<\/em>, que fue innovadora para su \u00e9poca, y esperas 36 a\u00f1os para lanzar una secuela, esperas algo grandioso. En su lugar, lo que obtuvimos fue una pel\u00edcula sin una historia clara\u2014o m\u00e1s bien, con un mont\u00f3n de historias que no importan realmente y que se resuelven en unos 10 minutos. Se siente aburrida y sin inspiraci\u00f3n, lo cual es lo \u00faltimo que quiero de una pel\u00edcula de Tim Burton.<br><br>Lo ames o lo odies, Burton suele arriesgarse. Sus pel\u00edculas siempre buscan algo diferente. \u00bfPero esta? Ni lo intenta. \u00bfY lo m\u00e1s triste? Mirando las predicciones de taquilla, no necesita intentarlo, porque todos iremos al cine por la nostalgia. En serio, m\u00edrenla y me avisan.<br><br>Jenna Ortega es una actriz talentosa, pero despu\u00e9s de <em>Wednesday<\/em>, este papel se siente como una repetici\u00f3n de lo mejor de sus trabajos anteriores. No aporta el rango necesario para las escenas m\u00e1s dram\u00e1ticas, que podr\u00edan haber elevado a su personaje.<br><br>Visualmente, la pel\u00edcula se ve bien\u2014hay algunas elecciones estil\u00edsticas extra\u00f1as, pero en general, est\u00e1 bien. Y, por supuesto, la ic\u00f3nica banda sonora de Danny Elfman todav\u00eda me da escalofr\u00edos cada vez que suena. -->\n<p>I\u2019m struggling not to give this movie a much lower rating, but I want to be fair. After watching it in the cinema, I settled on 3 stars. Why? Because it's not good, it\u2019s not bad\u2014it\u2019s just... watchable. And, to me, that\u2019s the worst thing about it.<br><br>When you have a movie as iconic as the original <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/film\/beetlejuice\/\">Beetlejuice<\/a>, which was way ahead of its time, and you wait 36 years to release a sequel, you expect something great. You expect them to swing for the fences. Instead, what we got is a movie with no clear story\u2014or rather, a bunch of stories that don\u2019t really matter and get resolved in about 10 minutes. It feels dull and uninspired, which is the last thing I want from a <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/director\/tim-burton\/\">Tim Burton<\/a> movie.<br><br>Love him or hate him, Burton usually takes risks. His films always swing for something different. But this one? It doesn't even try. And the saddest part? Looking at the box office predictions, it doesn\u2019t need to try, because we\u2019ll all show up for the nostalgia. We get lost in what we loved about the original and don't even notice how lazy this one is.<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/actor\/michael-keaton\/\">Michael Keaton<\/a> tries to bring back the Beetlejuice magic, but even his performance feels off at times. It\u2019s like he knows he doesn\u2019t need to try harder\u2014no one else is. And the rest of the cast follows suit, just moving from one scene to the next. Maybe <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/actor\/catherine-ohara\/\">Catherine O\u2019Hara<\/a> is the exception, but that\u2019s about it.<br><br>There are some new characters, but honestly, take them out of the movie, and it wouldn\u2019t make a difference. Can someone explain why <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/actor\/monica-bellucci\/\">Monica Bellucci<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/actor\/willem-dafoe\/\">Willem Dafoe<\/a> are even in this? Seriously, watch it and let me know.<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/actor\/jenna-ortega\/\">Jenna Ortega<\/a> is a talented actress, but after Wednesday, this role feels like a greatest hits remix of her past work. She doesn\u2019t bring the range needed for the more dramatic scenes that could have elevated her character.<br><br>Visually, the movie looks good\u2014there are some strange stylistic choices, but overall, it\u2019s fine. And, of course, <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/composer\/danny-elfman\/\">Danny Elfman\u2019s<\/a> iconic score still gives me goosebumps every time it plays. Unfortunately, that\u2019s about the only thing at the same level as the original.<br><br>It doesn't come close to the magic of the original, and the worst part? It never even tries. -->\n<p>Estoy luchando por n\u00e3o dar a este filme uma nota muito mais baixa, mas quero ser justo. Depois de assistir no cinema, decidi dar 3 estrelas. Por qu\u00ea? Porque n\u00e3o \u00e9 bom, n\u00e3o \u00e9 ruim \u2014 \u00e9 simplesmente... assist\u00edvel. E, para mim, isso \u00e9 o pior de tudo.<br><br>Quando voc\u00ea tem um filme t\u00e3o ic\u00f4nico como o <em>Beetlejuice<\/em> original, que foi muito \u00e0 frente de seu tempo, e espera 36 anos para lan\u00e7ar uma sequ\u00eancia, espera algo grandioso. Espera que eles tentem algo arriscado. Mas, ao inv\u00e9s disso, o que recebemos \u00e9 um filme sem uma hist\u00f3ria clara \u2014 ou melhor, v\u00e1rias hist\u00f3rias que n\u00e3o importam de verdade e se resolvem em cerca de 10 minutos. Parece sem vida e sem inspira\u00e7\u00e3o, que \u00e9 o \u00faltimo sentimento que espero de um filme de Tim Burton.<br><br>Ame-o ou odeie-o, Burton geralmente se arrisca. Seus filmes sempre tentam algo diferente. Mas esse? Nem sequer tenta. E a parte mais triste? Olhando para as previs\u00f5es de bilheteria, n\u00e3o precisa tentar, porque todos n\u00f3s iremos ao cinema por nostalgia. Ficamos perdidos no que am\u00e1vamos no original e nem notamos o qu\u00e3o pregui\u00e7osa \u00e9 essa sequ\u00eancia.<br><br>Michael Keaton tenta trazer de volta a magia de <em>Beetlejuice<\/em>, mas at\u00e9 sua performance parece fora do tom em alguns momentos. \u00c9 como se ele soubesse que n\u00e3o precisa se esfor\u00e7ar mais \u2014 ningu\u00e9m est\u00e1. E o restante do elenco segue esse exemplo, apenas passando de uma cena para a outra. Talvez Catherine O'Hara seja a exce\u00e7\u00e3o, mas \u00e9 isso.<br><br>H\u00e1 alguns personagens novos, mas, sinceramente, se voc\u00ea os tirasse do filme, n\u00e3o faria diferen\u00e7a alguma. Algu\u00e9m pode me explicar por que Monica Bellucci e Willem Dafoe est\u00e3o nesse filme? S\u00e9rio, assistam e me contem.<br><br>Jenna Ortega \u00e9 uma atriz talentosa, mas depois de <em>Wednesday<\/em>, esse papel parece uma colet\u00e2nea dos melhores momentos de seus trabalhos anteriores. Ela n\u00e3o traz a profundidade necess\u00e1ria para as cenas mais dram\u00e1ticas que poderiam ter dado mais dimens\u00e3o \u00e0 sua personagem.<br><br>Visualmente, o filme \u00e9 bom \u2014 h\u00e1 algumas escolhas estil\u00edsticas estranhas, mas, no geral, est\u00e1 bem. E, claro, a ic\u00f4nica trilha sonora de Danny Elfman ainda me d\u00e1 arrepios toda vez que toca. Infelizmente, isso \u00e9 praticamente a \u00fanica coisa que est\u00e1 no mesmo n\u00edvel do original.<br><br>N\u00e3o chega nem perto da magia do original, e o pior de tudo? Nem tenta. -->\n<p>Estoy luchando por no darle a esta pel\u00edcula una calificaci\u00f3n mucho m\u00e1s baja, pero quiero ser justo. Despu\u00e9s de verla en el cine, me qued\u00e9 con 3 estrellas. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9? Porque no es buena, no es mala\u2014es simplemente... pasable. Y, para m\u00ed, eso es lo peor de todo.<br><br>Cuando tienes una pel\u00edcula tan ic\u00f3nica como la original <em>Beetlejuice<\/em>, que fue innovadora para su \u00e9poca, y esperas 36 a\u00f1os para lanzar una secuela, esperas algo grandioso. Esperas que apunten alto. En su lugar, lo que obtuvimos fue una pel\u00edcula sin una historia clara\u2014o m\u00e1s bien, con un mont\u00f3n de historias que no importan realmente y que se resuelven en unos 10 minutos. Se siente aburrida y sin inspiraci\u00f3n, lo cual es lo \u00faltimo que quiero de una pel\u00edcula de Tim Burton.<br><br>Lo ames o lo odies, Burton suele arriesgarse. Sus pel\u00edculas siempre buscan algo diferente. \u00bfPero esta? Ni lo intenta. \u00bfY lo m\u00e1s triste? Mirando las predicciones de taquilla, no necesita intentarlo, porque todos iremos al cine por la nostalgia. Nos perdemos en lo que am\u00e1bamos del original y ni siquiera notamos lo perezosa que es esta secuela.<br><br>Michael Keaton intenta recuperar la magia de <em>Beetlejuice<\/em>, pero incluso su actuaci\u00f3n se siente apagada a veces. Es como si supiera que no necesita esforzarse m\u00e1s\u2014nadie lo est\u00e1 haciendo. Y el resto del elenco sigue su ejemplo, pasando de una escena a la siguiente. Quiz\u00e1s Catherine O'Hara sea la excepci\u00f3n, pero hasta ah\u00ed.<br><br>Hay algunos personajes nuevos, pero, honestamente, si los sacaras de la pel\u00edcula no har\u00eda ninguna diferencia. \u00bfAlguien puede explicarme por qu\u00e9 Monica Bellucci y Willem Dafoe est\u00e1n en esta pel\u00edcula? En serio, m\u00edrenla y me avisan.<br><br>Jenna Ortega es una actriz talentosa, pero despu\u00e9s de <em>Wednesday<\/em>, este papel se siente como una repetici\u00f3n de lo mejor de sus trabajos anteriores. No aporta el rango necesario para las escenas m\u00e1s dram\u00e1ticas, que podr\u00edan haber elevado a su personaje.<br><br>Visualmente, la pel\u00edcula se ve bien\u2014hay algunas elecciones estil\u00edsticas extra\u00f1as, pero en general, est\u00e1 bien. Y, por supuesto, la ic\u00f3nica banda sonora de Danny Elfman todav\u00eda me da escalofr\u00edos cada vez que suena.
